Reborn in 1996
On Friday 13th December 1996 I was a passenger involved in a serious car accident (RTA) The passenger seat with me still strapped into it was wedged behind the drivers seat of a ford fiesta.
I suffered central dislocation of my left hip, smashing my pelvis into 7 different pieces, what was left of my pelvis shoved up through my diaphragm tearing several vital organs on its way. On top of this having a fractured skull being in turn having head injury and coma for 16 days
After telling the nurses on ward 9 North Staffs hospital that if ever I get back on my feet, I WILL run the London Marathon for Millennium which I did in a time of 4 hours 46 minutes. I have not looked back since, running a total of 12 full distance marathons raising in excess of £25000.00 for various charities.
